SANTA CRUZ‘s future became uncertain last March, when three of its four members —guitarist Joonas “Johnny Cruz” Parkkonen, bassist Mitja “Middy Cruz” Toivonen and drummer Tapani “Tazzy Cruz” Fagerström— announced their sudden departure from the band during their U.S. tour. A new guitarist called Brody DeRozie was incorporated in April, but his stay has been short.
However, frontman Arttu “Archie Cruz” Kuosmanen has already found a replacement: Pav Cruzz, a 19 year old guitar prodigy from Russia. According to Archie, the new guitarist is “a better match for the band”.

DeRozie wrote on his Instagram:
“With all things considered I’ve come to the realization that SANTA CRUZ isn’t for me. I wanna thank everyone for the love and respect and wish nothing for the best for everyone involved.”
The band’s official post can be found below:
After working with Brody DeRozie for a few months, we mutually came to the conclusion that he was not the man for Santa Cruz. We want to wish Brody all the best to his future endeavours in music. May we introduce the Russian Rocket, 19 year old guitar prodigy: @pavcruzz ⚡️🔥 We’ve been working like crazy on the low to get this band to the next level, so get stoked boys & girls! Shit’s about to get wild! XXX – The Cruz Team
