‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful‘ is an album I was almost impatiently waiting for. I was a huge Tarja Turunen fan and after her departure from Nightwish, I wasn’t as excited as when Floor Jansen joined the band! I thought it was an interesting choice but nonetheless a really good one, because I’ve been following Floor since her After Forever days and know how talented and versatile she is.

I was fortunate enough to see them a few times live with Floor as the band’s frontwoman before ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful‘ was finished/released and I knew immediately that it was a match made in heaven! Once the album was announced, I knew Floor would take Nightwish into a completely different direction but without straying them from the authentic, classic, Nightwish sound that they have been known for, especially during their Tarja days. It was also announced at some point that the band’s drummer Jukka Nevalainen would be taking time off for health reasons and Kai Hahto, a drummer who’s legacy precedes him from Rotten Sound, Wintersun, Swallow The Sun , Trees Of Eternity, and others, would be his replacement. The fact that the theme of the album is evolution, I felt was a sign that the band was ready to start a brand new chapter but without forgetting about the building blocks who made them disputably, Finland’s largest Metal band.  

I could probably write a whole novel as a review for this album, but to keep it readable I’ll just say that it’s Nightwish, it’s epic, it’s amazing, and your life won’t be complete until you listen to it! Go listen to it now!
