BIOGRAPHY

Normandie was founded in September of 2013 by the singers Philip Strand and Johan Lindström, the two guitarists Joel Felix and Håkan Almbladh, as well as bassist Stefan Timmerholm and drummer Jesper Malmberg in the Swedish city of Örebro.

Just a few days after the band was founded, the EP named after the band was released on September 11th with four titles. In the meantime, Johan Lindström and Joel Felix have left the group, so that they act as a quartet.

After the debut album Inguz was first released on February 19, 2016, the independent US record label inVogue Records signed the group under contract and put the album on 11 March of the same year for the North American market again. Between 15 and 31 July 2016, the group touring through several European countries and plays at several music festivals, including Bochum Total, Rock the lake and the Trebur Open Air.

Bassist John Löfgren had his last appearance at Rock The North 2016.

From the 7th to the 18th of December 2016, the group played in the opening act for Yellowcard on their farewell tour.

The group’s music features simple, alien-inspired melodies that are comparable to the new works of Bring Me the Horizon, but also to Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach. The group plays post-hardcore with influences from alternative rock, which in phases can even go through as mass-suited stadium rock.
