BIOGRAPHY
Lamented Souls is a Norwegian band composed of Ole Jørgen Moe, Simen Hestnæs, Einar Sjursø, and Olav Knutsen. The band formed in 1991 and it is Simen Hestnæs‘ longest running band. He started out as their drummer, but later on switched with Ole Jørgen Moe when the band became aware of his singing abilities. Lamented Souls was semi-inactive for several years due to Simen’s involvement with Dimmu Borgir and Arcturus, but after Simen’s departure from Dimmu Borgir in 2009, him and the other members of Lamented Souls discussed recording a new studio album.
